Generators?

Another storm has come and gone.  And with it the now customary loss of power in major portions of our county.  The county opened a shelter at Annapolis high school and some 30 folks showed up to use it despite the fact that nearly 100,000 people were without power.  What did the other 99,970 people do?
Several options exist.
Lots of people have fireplace and wood available and they just gather in one room for a night of in-house pioneering.
Some people have wood burning stoves.  Seems like after every major storm some of the local stores have run out of the stoves.
Other people have keorosene heaters at home that they simply pull out a couple of times a year.
Then there are friends and neighbors.
Local hospitals consistantly report baby boomlets nine months after most major power outages.
And
Increasingly more popular are generators.
Gasoline run generators are becoming increasingly popular as people discover that the relative cost is low. . .and the convenience is high.
Power goes out.  Pull the generator out of the shed.  Check the oil, add some fresh gasoling.  Turn on, connect to the house…and depending on the load your generator will bear, you are more or less back to living in the twenty-first century instead of the nineteenth.  Invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers and their families and you have the makings of an enjoyable time instead of an adventur lived through.
And when you go to sell the house, when you are leaving the area, it makes for a very nice item to leave the new buyers.  If you’re staying in the area, you need to check how adequate the generator is for your new place, but it can frequently be moved to your new place.
